Brief

Our client had a requirement to upgrade the lighting to LED to reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs.

In addition to the main lighting the client wanted to use this process to ensure the new LED Emergency Lighting design met BS5266.

Due to the client requirements it became clear the best solution was to     use a number of luminaire manufacturers and the client decided    they wanted to work with a partner that would work with multiple manufacturers and provide a full turnkey solution.

Project Delivery

Sample luminaires were provided initially to establish the type of luminaires the client required both in energy performance and aesthetics. Lighting designs were undertaken and RKB set to work.

Working with the main contractor RKB organised the access equipment, waste management and the delivery of materials to site to carry out the project,

In addition to the installation of standard and emergency fittings as per  the supplied drawing, using specialist software numerous documents were produced on site upon practical completion these included:

  • Minor/Installation Works Certificate
  • LUX Levels following install (comparison lux levels taken at survey stage)
  • Emergency Lighting Certificate
  • Customer Completion Certificate
  • Customer Satisfaction Form

Outcome

Significant energy savings were achieved in excess of 65% through this project in line with expectation. The distribution centre was left fully lit with minimal downstream maintenance costs.
